(More customer reviews)For the first 2 months the ProMariner ProTech 1240i Plus worked well keeping my 3 AGM batteries charged on my boat. Then it failed. One day I found two of my batteries were dead. The charge was humming away generating nothing but heat. It was no longer charging. Now the hassle of pulling it out and dealing with a warranty claim process... ugh!
Like most boaters I want reliability more than a good warranty. The Protect 1240i did not deliver this.
My old Sentry 30amp ferro resonant charger the ProTech 1240i replaced worked without a hitch for 20 years in my boat. I regret switching to what I thought was an upgrade to a new computer based level charger.I felt would be more effective for my new AGM batteries. Not so.
